Abstract:
To provide a combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine which has a valve recess, a bulge portion, and a bowl portion on a top surface of a piston, can easily improve a combustion property of mixture, and can easily reduce a cooling loss of combustion gas.SOLUTION: A combustion chamber structure of an engine 1 has an intake side ridge portion 23 which intersects intake side valve recess 17 and 18 and a piston intake side flat portion 15; an exhaust side ridge portion 24 which intersects exhaust side valve recess 19 and 20 and a piston discharge side flat portion 16; and a first connection ridge portion 25 and a second connection ridge portion 26 which communicate end portions 23a and 23b of the intake side ridge portion 23 and end portions 24a and 24b of an exhaust side ridge portion 24, and extend along outer peripheral edges 5d and 5e in a radial direction of a top surface 5A of a piston 5. A first bowl portion 22 depressed from the bulge portion 21 toward a center axis 5a of the piston 5 is installed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
