Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide combustion device of diesel engine which enables to obtain combustion of extremely low NOx and extremely low particulate, large amount of EGR gas and large degree of freedom of timely control, and high reliability without wear of air intake valve and deterioration of lubricity.
CONSTITUTION: The combustion device is provided in a cylinder head and receives gas pressure in a combustion chamber directly. It is characterized in that it has an intensifying piston which drives by this pressure and compresses EGR gas into higher pressure than gas pressure in the combustion chamber, an exhaust gas passage 16 which connects an exhaust passage and the compression side of the intensifying piston, throttle valves which are provided in the exhaust gas passage sequentially and a check valve 15 for gas injection, and a controller which controls degree of opening of the throttle valves in accordance with operation of engine and injects EGR gas from the check valve 15 for infection in the direction of fuel infection valve by utilizing cylinder gas pressure before fuel injection is started close to the time when the compression stroke of piston ends.
