This combustion gas amount control device is constituted such that there is provided a cooperative mechanism for cooperating an output shaft and a safety valve operating body so as to keep the safety valve operating body at a closing motion allowable position when the output shaft of a stepping motor 18 is rotated to one side range and to operate the safety valve operating body to an opening motion acting position when the output shaft is rotated to the other side range; when a motor control part U for controlling an action of the stepping motor 18 determines that an output value of rotation phase detecting means PM is not in a normal range, but is abnormal, the control device executes an abnormal countermeasure processing for applying a prescribed number of setting pulses for abnormal countermeasure to the stepping motor 18 so as to cause the rotation phase to become one side range in such a direction as one in which the output shaft is rotated from the set reference rotation phase toward one side range.
