Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a combustion method for multi-staged burners capable of implementing a good combustion operation without incurring incomplete combustion from a start of combustion.
SOLUTION: A combustion method for multi-staged burners having a box- shaped body with an auxiliary burner port spaced apart from a burner port of a burner body and disposed above and opposite to the burner port starts combustion by feeding fuel at such a low combustion start fuel rate as to keep combustion flame formed at the burner port of the burner body not in contact with the box-shaped body. Then, the rate of fuel feed to the burner body is gradually increased to a rate of fuel feed for steady combustion which forms combustion flame at the auxiliary burner port. The combustion start fuel feed rate is set larger as temperature at start of combustion of the box-shaped body is higher (as the temperature is lower, the rate is set smaller).
