Title:
COMBUSTION METHOD WITH REDUCED NITROGEN OXIDES
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5469835
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE: To improve reduction rate of nitrogen oxides by adding small amount of oxygen for its predominate decomposition to nitrogen.
CONSTITUTION: Part of exhaust gas containing residual oxygen is taken off from a flue by a fan 8, oxygen in 0 to 0.3 volume % of the total exhaust gas volume generated from a furnace 1a is added thereto, and is burned with an air supplied through a supply line 7 in a volume sufficient to burn out uncombustioned part of the exhaust gas. When the volume of added oxygen is less then 3%, the reaction NH3, HCN+O2 → N2, H2O becomes predominant and the conversion to NOx usually occur in the combustion of unburned part is prevented thereby substantially improving the removal efficiency of nitrogen oxides.
