PURPOSE: To enable accurate detection of a combustion powdering behavior in a constant state of coke by a method wherein coke for testing is supplied continuously for a fixed time length and after a burning thereof, coke unreacted left in a container and pulverized coke in an exhaust gas collected with a dust collector are recovered.
CONSTITUTION: A high temperature gas is jetted to coke supplied onto an inner bottom surface 18 in a container 7 through a tuyere 8 from a burner 9. The coke burns intensely turning as would in a lace way of an actual blast furnace. Then, an exhaust gas is introduced to a dust collector 17 through an exhaust port 15 and a duct 16 formed in a top wall 7b of the container 7 and pulverized coke in the exhaust gas is trapped with the dust collector 17. In this manner, the coke is supplied continuously for a fixed time length to burn and the coke unreacted left in the container 7 and the pulverized coke in the exhaust gas trapped with the dust collector 17 are recovered to examine the quantity, particle size and nature thereof. This enables accurate detection of a combustion powdering behavior of the coke in the constant state.
