To restrict the discharged quantity of the harmful exhaust contaminant, and to simplify the structure of a burner by directing the fuel to a central part of a burner surface during the operation by the gas fuel in a combustor, and directing a cooling air flow to the central part of the burner surface during the operation by the liquid fuel in the combustor.
This device is formed of a burner 10, a combustion pre-chamber 13, and a combustion main chamber 14. The combustion air 15 is mixed with the fuel injected from a burner surface 16, and ignited when it arrives the pre- chamber 13. The burner 10 directs the gas fuel to a central part of the burner surface 16 during the operation by the gas fuel in a combustor, and directs a cooling air flow to the central part of the burner surface 16 during the operation by the liquid fuel in the combustor. Namely, a front face of the flame of the burner stays without generating a contact with the central part of the burner surface 16 at any set value of the engine load. Consequently, the pilot gas fuel to be swept while crossing the burner surface 10 works as the effective heat insulating material for preventing the generation of damage.
