To provide a comics editing system and comics editing method for displaying various comics by various display methods by providing the system for setting the display forms and display sequences of comics images by an intuitive graphical user interface in a simple manner, and by capturing the edition information created by the system into a display device.
A comics data acquisition section 328 reads the comics data including the geometric information of the assignment region set on the image of the comics for the purpose of a screen display and the sequence information imparted to each of the assignment regions along the sequences of reading the comics. A display position processing section 310 specifies the assignment region to be screen displayed next as a next display region based on the sequence information every time there is the screen feed operation by a user. A display judging section 326 judges whether the next display region can be displayed by one screen or not based on the geometric information. A display position processing section 310 has the next display region displayed in the central part of the screen when the next display region is judged to be displayable by the one screen and displays the same in such a manner that the prescribed position in the next display region comes to the central part of the screen when the next display region is judged to be undisplayable by the one screen.
