Abstract:
To provide a commodity data processing device which can detect an abnormal state of a drive part at an early stage, perform notification and limit the function of the drive part before the drive part fails, with a simple structure, and to provide a packaging device.SOLUTION: A commodity data processing device includes: a drive part; a drive detection part for detecting the state of the drive part; and a notification part which notifies maintenance information showing the determination result of whether or not maintenance regarding the drive part is necessary, according to the detection by the drive detection part. This commodity data processing device may have a limit control part for limiting the function of the drive part which has been determined to require maintenance.
