When a request for prescribed information is issued from a user terminal such as a commodity information terminal 118, on the basis of the bar code 104 of the commodity, for example, one or both of the first and second databases 115, 116 are referred to, and the information is returned to the user side. A check on consistency between the identification information attached to the commodity is also possible.
