Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a non-halogen cable to meet the U.S.A. standard pertaining to the plenum cables by covering each communication/transmitting means with a specific non-halogenized plastic material, and forming a jacket from a halogenized plastic material. CONSTITUTION: A cable 20 has a core 22, which has at least one transmitting (communication) medium. The transmitting medium has an insulated metal conductor 26 of a twined couple 24, and the conductor 26 is covered with a plastic material 27 selected among a group consisting of polyetherimide, silicon- polyimide coplymer, and mixture composition containing them. A jacket 28 is formed from a plastic material selected among a group consisting of polyetherimide, silicon-polyimide copolymer, and mixture composition containing them and installed around the core 22. The obtained cable will well meet the U.S.A. standard pertaining to the plenum cables.
