Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication control method for a camera system comprising an interchangeable lens unit for making it possible to rapidly establish communication at higher communication speed without performing complicated command transmission/reception and the like between a lens unit and a camera main body.SOLUTION: Lens unit side control means, when power is turned on, transmits a handshake signal at arbitrary communication speed on the basis of detection of a start-up signal from upper side control means. The upper side control means receives the handshake signal transmitted from the lens unit side control means by changing communication speed within a range of communication speed that the upper side control means can set, and performs handshake operation for establishing communication speed to be used with the lens unit side control means.
