PURPOSE: To provide the communication controller in which a preprocessing time is considerably reduced without extension of new electronic components to the facsimile equipment.
CONSTITUTION: The facsimile equipment at a sender side sets a T.1 timer in a CPU 1 to 3.5sec after abbreviated dialing. Then a receiver discriminates whether or not abbreviated dialing is available. When the abbreviation procedure is not available, the communication procedure of usual T.30 is implemented. When the receiver has a function of abbreviated procedure, receiver information in a RAM 6 is referenced and after a 2nd NSS setting a highest image transmission speed is sent, a reply signal is detected for one second. When the reply signal indicates a CFR, the reception mode designation instruction is sent at a transmission speed designated by the 2nd NSS and then an image signal is sent and a main routine is terminated. When the detected signal is not the CFR, whether or not the signal is a DIS(digital identification signal) and when the signal is the DIS, the process transits to a transmission node A and the transmission is implemented according to the received DIS and the main routine is finished.
