To provide a communication device and method which optimally allocate radio communication channels, in a radio communication system having a plurality of carrier frequencies and using the plurality of carrier frequencies.
When allocating a next communication channel at the same timing as that of an already allocated communication channel, a channel allocation processing unit 17 which allocates a plurality of communication channels continued in an axial direction of frequency at the same timing to one device at the other end, selects a next communication channel which satisfies a condition that a communication channel, not used in the axial direction of frequency, is adjacent thereto and the communication channel not used in the axial direction of frequency of communication channel allocated previously is adjacent thereto by the next allocation of the communication channel, as the candidate of next communication channel, then, the next communication channel is allocated based on the selection.
