To provide a communication device which performs control so that a name information table having small deviation from the actual state of an ad hoc network can be held.
The communication device has a means of holding the name information table for name solution and acquiring position information on its device. When a name information signal including name information, address, position information, and speed information of a communication device constituting the ad hoc network is received, effective time is calculated based upon the position information and speed information included in the name information signal, position information of the device itself, and speed information of the device itself calculated from a history of position information of the device itself, and the name information, address, position information, and speed information are put in one record; and the calculated effective time is registered as effective time of the record in the name information table and a record whose effective time expired is deleted from the name information table.
