Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a modem which is used in an xDSL communication system, made efficient by allowing automatic selection of a cut-off frequency on a communication line.
SOLUTION: The cut-off frequency with respect to communication data on the communication line is switched automatically according to its being connected or not connecting a capacitor 7, in parallel with a capacitor 9 by a switch 8. Thus a frequency band which does not have influence upon telephone services is used, when data communication services, and telephone services are provided together on the same telephone line, and a low band can be used effectively, when the multiple system is not adopted and only data communication services are provided, and information can be transmitted in a wider frequency space.
