To provide a communication equipment which confirms a status of communication with another communication equipment by radio as needed, while reducing power consumption by preventing radio interference when performing a demonstration operation.
A master unit 1 can be connected with a public line network and can wirelessly communicate with a slave unit 2. The master unit includes: a mode setting instruction section 51 which instructs the execution of a demonstration operation of a cordless telephone and stops wireless communication with the slave unit in response to the execution of the demonstration operation; and a mode change monitoring section 52 for determining whether or not an off-hook or on-hook detection result input from a hook detection circuit 18 is received during the demonstration operation. When the mode change monitoring section 52 determines that the off-hook or on-hook detection result is received during the demonstration operation, the mode setting instruction section 51 resumes the wireless communication with the slave unit 2 just for a predetermined period of time.
