PURPOSE: To prevent useless consumption of memory areas by continuing or stopping the communication processing in response to an operation input based on an identification information list so as to implement registration to permit or inhibit the arrival of an incoming call thereby setting the call reception condition.
CONSTITUTION: An identification information list comprising a telephone number of an opposite station and a user abbreviation allowed for the reception is stored in advance in a RAM 3. Upon the receipt of a picture, a reception routine is started by the reception of a call signal from a communication line 12 under the control of a CPU 1. Then a relay of an NCU 7 is thrown to the position of a modem 8 and the line 12 is connected to the modem 8. Then the prescribed communication procedure is implemented to decide the reception mode and a content of list data in the RAM 3 and the received data are collated in response to the identification data. When those data are coincident, the conventional reception processing is implemented, and when the content is registered in a reject list, a reject switch 5a is depressed to stop a recording output. Then it is prevented that undesired data are received, the line is uselessly occupied and waste of recording paper and memory areas is caused.
