Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control call flow to a program source of a bidirectional terminal by controlling the flow as a function of a network capacity on one hand and as a profile function of a user of a bidirectional terminal, on the other.
SOLUTION: A forward path consists of a multiplexer 1 and a channel 2. A return path is constituted of a telephone line 4, which connects a terminal 6 to a server 8 that on one hand, manages a database 10 which stores information that is related to a user of the bidirectional terminal 6. On the other hand, the line collects and processes information that is outputted from the terminal during communication with a program source S. A transmitter ends a group of data in the process of sending a two-way program, and the data group consists of a period, when each terminal is allowed to try to establish two-way communication with a transmitter and data which needs a specific priority level for a terminal to be considered and offers an attempt of two-way communication at the point of time within the period. Because the frequency of call attempts of a terminal which has a low priority is increased, the probability of call success is increased.
