PURPOSE: To enable a self-government body to purchase a karaoke (prerecorded backing music) set and lend it out at the time of festival or entertainments in the town, thought it is a communication system of karaoke system.

CONSTITUTION: This communication karaoke system is composed of a communication terminal 20, which transfers information data through a transmission line 3 with a host computer 1, and a performance terminal 30, which can perform karaoke performance, being cut off the communication terminal 20. The communication terminal 20 consists of a communication means 21 for the host computer 1, a temporary storage part 23 for temporarily storing data on new music and data on the use condition of the performance terminal, an interface part 22 for the performance terminal 30, and a communication controller 24. The performance terminal 30 consists of an interface part 31 for the communication terminal 20, a musical sound data storage part 32 for storing musical sound data for karaoke performance, a musical sound conversion means 33 for converting the musical sound data into karaoke sound signal, an input means 34 for a user to select music, and a performance controller 35.
