Abstract:

PURPOSE: To perform a communication network traffic time series prediction with high accuracy by performing a nonlinear prediction calculation by using a chaos property in traffic.

CONSTITUTION: The unit of time series data to be an analysis object is selected, the unit is inputted from a communication network traffic time series input device 1 and the traffic time series data of a known (past) communication network is inputted. This inputted traffic time series data is stored in a storage device 2. Based on this traffic time series data, an attractor of the dimension of designated delay time is reconstituted in an attractor reconstitution device 3. The calculation of a fractal dimension is performed from the attractor drawn in this attractor reconstitution device 3 by a fractal dimension calculator 4 and a flush dimension m is determined from this calculation. From the attractor, the flush dimension m, delay time τ determined in this way, a nonlinear prediction is performed by a nonlinear prediction calculator 5.
