Abstract:
To provide a technique enabling a user to have an attachment to a robot that operates autonomously while realizing a single robot having a communication function via autonomous operation and a communication function via an action based on an operation instruction from a person located in a remote place.SOLUTION: A communication robot includes: an operation unit; and a communication arbitration unit for arbitrating communication with a service user by presenting either of a robot mode and an avatar mode, where the robot mode is to cause the operation unit to autonomously operate by applying a first operation reference, while the avatar mode is to cause the operation unit to operate on the basis of an operation instruction from a remote operator by applying a second operation reference. In a case where the avatar mode is to be presented in accordance with an operation request from a remote operator, the communication arbitration unit causes the operation unit to operate in the robot mode, thus asking the service user to check whether to permit switching to the avatar mode.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
