To realize a communication semiconductor integrated circuit having a high gain amplifier circuit enabling a gain allotment with a comparatively high degree of freedom, using control codes with a small number of bits.
The communication semiconductor integrated circuit (high frequency IC) has high gain amplifier circuits (240a, 240b) for amplifying received signals into signals of a specified amplitude level while removing unwanted waves with a plurality of low-pass filters (LPF1-LPF3), and variable-gain amplifiers (PGA1-PGA3) alternately connected in a multiple stage to the amplifier circuits. The gain of the variable gain amplifier in each stage is controllable from outside, and gain allotments not very meaningful in the characteristics are disabled from setting among settable gain allotments.
