To simplify a transmitting operation when communication is performed by repeating a network by a communication terminal for public network by calculating distance between a coordinate corresponding to an area code at the other party and each coordinate of an area code corresponding to each repeater and performing repeating communication by defining the repeater corresponding to the area code at the shortest distance as the repeater at an incoming call side by the repeater at the call originating side.

When the area code is not the one of the present station, the preliminarily registered repeater 20a at the call originating side is called by facsimile equipment 1a at the call originating side. The mutual distance between facsimile equipment 1b at the incoming call side and each repeater 20 which is registered in an address corresponding table is calculated from approximate X-Y coordinate of the facsimile equipment 1b at the incoming call side and each repeater 20 which is obtained by collating a telephone number of destination, the area code of each repeater 20 which is registered in an area code/address correspondence table with an area code/X-Y coordinate table and of the facsimile equipment 1b at the call incoming side and each repeater 20 by a repeater 20a at the call originating side. And the nearest repeater 20 to the facsimile equipment 1b at the call incoming side is specified as a repeater 20b at the call incoming side and repeating is requested to the repeater 20b at the call incoming side via the network 40.
