Abstract:

PURPOSE: To execute communication by automatically matching communication speeds each other even when the communication speed of each MODEM differs.

CONSTITUTION: When a communication channel is set up, after a transmitter side MODEM 3 makes a request to setting a communication speed of a receiver side MODEM 5 through a telephone line 4, the sender side MODEM 3 receives an acknowledge signal from the receiver side MODEM 5. Based on the reception content, the communication speed of the transmitter side MODEM 3 is controlled to match the communication speed of the transmitter side MODEM 3 with the communication speed of the receiver side MODEM 5 and then sets up the communication channel. Even when the communication speed of the MODEMs 3, 5 differs from each other, the communication is automatically executed while matching the communication speed of them.
