The communication terminal 1 includes: an opening/closing sensor 4 for sensing that postal matters are posted to the mailbox 15; an imaging section 5 for imaging image data of the postal matters posted to the mailbox 15 when the opening/closing sensor 4 senses that the postal matters are posted; an image memory 8 for storing the image data imaged by the imaging section 5; and a communication section 9 for attaching the image data stored in the image memory 8 to electronic mail and transmitting the electronic mail to a prescribed destination.
