To provide an electric wire for communication and a wire harness which have high flame retardancy.SOLUTION: An electric wire 1A for communication includes a twisted pair wire 2 obtained by twisting a pair of insulated wires 11A and 11B having conductors 111 composed of a single wire or a twisted wire and insulating coatings 112 that have insulating property and cover the outer peripheries of the conductors, and a sheath 12A covering the outer periphery of the twisted pair wire 2, wherein a characteristic impedance is within 100 Ω±10 Ω, an insertion loss at a frequency of 66 MHz at room temperature is less than 0.68 dB/m, and the sheath 12A contains a bromine-based flame retardant and antimony trioxide.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
