To reduce power consumption of communication equipment which is used as a slave unit in a network.
The communication equipment includes a data communication part which transmits/receives a data signal to/from a master unit and suppresses the power consumption of the communication equipment, by stopping an operation in a period, when transmission and reception are not performed; a register which receives back-off time data received from the master unit from the data communication part to be stored; a wake-up signal reception determination part which generates a back-off time standby signal instructing back-off processing, when the wake-up signal is received from the master unit during operation stop of the data communication part; and a back-off time standby part which reads back-off time data stored in the register, when the back-off time standby signal is detected, generates a physical phenomenon by which variation with time can be observed with a scale according to back-off time, and starts the data communication part after observing the variation with time to stand by, until an elapse of the back-off time is detected.
