To provide a communication system which restores a receiving means into a receivable state, without system reset or using of a private signal wire, with respect to the receiving means having fallen into a reception disabled state.
The communications system 16 is provided with a transmitter 9 and a receiver 11 for carrying out communication of a data packet with each other through serial communication. The transmitter 9 is provided with a clock signal generating part 25 for generating a clock signal and a data transmission part 18 for transmitting the data packet in synchronism with the clock signal. The receiver 11 is provided with a data receiving part 26 for receiving the data packet; an error determing part 30 for determing whether communication has been carried out normally; and a reception malfunction signal generating part 31 for transmitting reception malfunction signals to the transmitter 9 when there is communication error. Moreover, the transmitter 9 is provided with an initialization data transmission ocntrol part 22 for transmitting an initialization packet for initializing the receiver 11, when the reception malfunction signal is received.
