PURPOSE: To enable operation on a different kind of computer equipment by recording a means which absorbs a different kind on a single commutative storage medium.
CONSTITUTION: A boot ROM 34 is equipped with a read means P2 which reads a coordinate table of physical drives and physical drives out of an optical disk and a boot program B1 for a coordinate means P3 for making the physical drives and logical drives correspond to each other. The coordinate table of the physical drives and logical drives and an actuation SCSI-ID table T3 are recorded in a semiconductor memory 35. Further, a coordinate table T1 of drive names on a disk, the read means P2, the coordinate means P3, and a coordinate table recording means P6 are recorded on an optical disk 33a. The table T1 and recording means P6 are recorded on an optical disk 33b, and an OS or program P5 such as an application program, a parameter setting means P4, an OS start program 10, and the OS are recorded on an optical disk 33c.
