Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To raise the strength of a segment, while shortening the length of slit cut processing.
SOLUTION: In a commutator, where a plurality of segments 10 are arranged in circular form in a condition of being insulated from one another and are retained by a base part 41 molded integrally by resin, and the terminal 52 of coil linear material is connected to a riser 20 made at the periphery end of each segment 10, a stepped part 30 is made at the boundary between the segment 10 and the riser, and the top side 22 of the riser is lowered than the brush contact face 12 of the segment 10. In the manufacture of the commutator, since if can be divided into segments by forming a slit only at the segment part being the upper stage of the stepped part 30 made between the segment part of an element board and the riser part, the cutting processing time of the slit can be reduced by shortening the cutting length of the slit. Since a boss is made out of resin in a space inside the stepped part 30, the segment 10 can be reinforced, and the mechanical strength of the segment 10 can be raised.
