Abstract:
To provide a commutator of an electric-motor superior in spark resistance.SOLUTION: A commutator 10 includes: multiple plate-shaped commutator pieces each having a sliding portion 15; and a support 12 that supports the commutator pieces on the outer circumference and has a rotation axis, in which the multiple commutator pieces are arranged on the peripheral surface of the support 12 along the rotation direction. The axial end of the rotating shaft of the commutator pieces is bent inward at a first bent portion 14a and has a first anchor portion extending from the bent portion 14a toward the inner peripheral direction. The sliding portion 15 includes a first copper material containing 0.1-2 mass% of Al2O3 at least on the surface of the first major surface that slides in contact with the brush. The anchor part does not contain Al2O3, or is composed of a second copper material whose Al2O3 content is lower than that of the first copper material and 0.1 mass% or less.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1A
