To provide a commutator motor that allows the enhancement of the heat radiating capability of brushes with substantially no increase in cost.
Certain areas in heat conduction plates 72 and 72' are thermally coupled with the brushes in brush holders 34 and 34', respectively. The remaining areas in the heat conduction plates 72 and 72' extends along the inner surface of a metal motor bracket 10 on the side where the brush holders 34 and 34' are located with an insulating sheet 61 in-between. Heat from the brushes in the brush holders 34 and 34' is dissipated by the route of the heat conduction plates 72 and 72' to the insulating sheet 61 to the bracket 10. Further, heat from the brushes is dissipated into the atmosphere in the motor through the heat conduction plates 72 and 72' and is emitted to the outside air through vent holes or the like.
