PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably hold a brush to be brought into contact with a commutator.SOLUTION: A commutator motor 1 is provided with: a commutator 5; and a brush unit 6, in which the brush unit 6 has: a brush 64 which contacts the commutator 5; a variable holder 61 which holds the brush 64; and a spring 63 which presses the brush 64 toward the commutator 5, and the variable holder 61 is formed of shape memory alloys, and deforms in a state of contacting the brush 64 according to deformation of the brush 64.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
