To intensity the holding force of a molded material holding commutator pieces which are connected to the windings of a motor on the side face of a commutator by attaching a reinforcing ring to the outer peripheries of the commutator pieces.
Commutator pieces 1, provided on the side face of a commutator 6, are fixed and held to the side face with a molded material. The windings 3 of a rotor 7 which is coaxially connected to the commutator 6 are connected to the hook sections 4 of the pieces 1 and the commutator 6 and rotor 7, thus connected to each other, constitute an armature. A reinforcing ring 5 made of glass fibers is used for intensifying the fixing and holding forces of molded material. Since the windings 3 are thermally melt-stuck to the hook sections 4, after the windings 3 have been connected to the sections 4 and the ring 5 has been press-fitted into the commutator 6 after the windings 3 have been thermally melt-stuck to the sections 4, the holding force of the molded material can be intensified and the floating of the pieces 1 from the commutator 6 can be prevented. In addition, a commutator motor, using the commutator 6, can be rotated at a high-speed.
