Abstract:
PURPOSE:To prevent the incoming dust and so on from the outside by providing a protective ring which bridges between the end section side of a commutator bar and the peripheral surface of a cylindrical insulator. CONSTITUTION:A commutator is constituted by binding and securing a lot of commutator bars 1 which are piled up through insulating materials between bars by means of a clamping body 5, and a protective ring 4 is mounted to the side of the commutator. The protective ring 4 has a ring-like and a rubber- like elastic body, and adheres to the peripheral surface of a cylindrical insulator 2 so as to can slide. When a dimensional variation occurred by thermal expansion of the commutator, the protective ring 4 moves according to the variation, and shields a void formed between the end section of the communicator bar 1 and the cylindrical insulator 2.
