PURPOSE: To provide a commutator which can maintain a reliable connection by a resistance element and the like between respective commutator pieces even at the time of the high-speed rotation of a rotor (armature).
CONSTITUTION: In a commutator 1, the respective anchor parts 3-3 of commutator pieces 2-2 and reinforcing spheres 6-6 are integratedly molded with a sythetic resin-made hub 4, and the anchor parts 3-3 are interconnected and at the same time the position of the reinforcing spheres 6-6 is fixed and therefore, the adjacent commutator pieces 2, 2 are surely connected by the reinforcing spheres 6 held between groove parts 3a, 3a. Since the reinforcing spheres 6 are made up of a material having an electrical resistance characteristic, a varistor characteristic or a capacitor characteristic, the adjacent commutator pieces 2, 2 are electrically connected by a resistance element, a varistor element or capacitor element. Therefore, even at the time of the high-speed rotation of the rotor, there is not possibility that the reinforcing spheres 6-6 are damaged or displaced, so that the electrical connection between the respective commutator pieces 2-2 is surely maintained.
