To provide a compact electric vehicle capable of improving the gripping quality of a grip part, reducing the weight of a steering wheel, and provided with a steering wheel with excellent operability and gripping quality, and excellent appearance.
A horizontally straight grip part 11 on right and left parts of a rear end of at least a steering wheel base 6 is formed on a covered material 10 of a handle rod 8 which has a core 9 inside with a flexible covering material 10 covered thereon. An accelerator lever 12 is provided in front of the grip part 11. An outer part of the grip part 11 is bent forwardly, and connected to a front part of the steering wheel base 6. The covering material 10 of the grip part 10 has the outside diameter larger than that of the covering part of a bent part adjacent to the outer side. A stepped part 14, or an inclined part 15 with its outside diameter being gradually increased from the bent part 13 is formed between the grip part 11 and the bent part 13. Further, the core 9 inside or in a vicinity of the stepped part 14 or the inclined part 15 is different in change of the outside diameter of the covering material 10, i.e., the outside diameter of the core 9 of the grip part 11 is smaller than the outside diameter of the core of the bent part 13.
