Title:
COMPACT FLUORESCENT LUMINAIRE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0883505
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To arrange a plurality of elongate lamps side by side in a lighting fixture, so that the lamps are mounted close enough together to simulate light from a hairline light source, in particular the hairline light source having an optical centerline coincident with the focal line or optical centerline of a reflector.

CONSTITUTION: In this luminaire, two elongate lamps 40, 41 are disposed adjacently to a lighting fixture 10 having lamp holders 30, 31 alternately mounted on opposite side plates 20, 21 or brackets. The lighting fixture 10 has an inside dimension that is longer than the length of combination of each the lamp 40, 41 and the lamp holder 30, 31 by a length sufficient to prevent the distal end of each the lamp 40, 41 from overlapping an exposed plug portion and the lamp holder 30, 31 of any of the adjacent lamps 40, 41. The lamps 40, 41 are tightly gathered, and are close enough together to simulate a hairline light source having an optical centerline coincident with the optical centerline of the lighting fixture 10.
