The compact of the gradient material is characterized by being obtained not as a half finished article but as a near-shape completed article, when being continuously cast with at least one alloy solidified in an outer shell of the compact at a thermodynamic non-equilibrium condition. The method for manufacturing the compact of the gradient material comprises continuously casting at least one molten metal which is alloyed to a supersaturated state, to make the compact of a complete form, and cooling the above outer shell of the compact formed in the above casting process, to form crystal lattice.
