To provide a compact self-balanced fluorescent lamp with a function to kill insects which gather at the light of a lamp itself attached to a luminaire.

The electrodes having different polarities which face each other are provided around the compact self-balanced fluorescent lamp. A high voltage is applied across the electrodes of different polarities, and the insects gathering at the light of fluorescent lamp touch the electrode parts, for the insecticidal function to be demonstrated.
