PURPOSE: To well correct aberration, by forming at least one plane of a third lens or a fourth lens in which axial light height is increased in an aspherical plane in a front group, and providing the aspherical plane also in a rear group.
CONSTITUTION: In a zoom lens consisting of the front group having a positive refracting power and the rear group having a negative refracting power and performs variable power by changing an interval between the front group and the rear group, the front group is constituted in sequence from an object side of a first lens that is a projecting positive meniscus lens at the object side a second negative lens, a third positive lens, and a fourth positive lens. Also, the rear group is constituted in sequence from the object side of a fifth lens that is the projecting positive meniscus lens at an image side and a sixth lens that is a projecting negative meniscus lens at the image side, and at least one plane of the third lens or the fourth lens in the front group, and at least one plane in the rear group are formed in the aspherical plane, then, the conditions of equations I and II are satisfied. In the equations I and II, fF and fR represent the focal distances of the front group and the rear group, respectively, and fW represents the focal distance of the whole system at a wide angle end. In such a way respective aberration can be corrected in a superior state.
