PURPOSE: To execute compacting in such a manner that the density of parts having different thickness is made uniform, at the time of compacting a molded body having a rotation symmetry shape to a symmetry axis and having different thickness by pressurization on powdery raw material, by using a punch having a specified structure.
CONSTITUTION: At the time of compacting a molded body having a rotation symmetry shape to a symmetry axis as the center and having parts with different thickness in the radial direction by pressurization on raw material powder, the raw material powder is charged to the inside of a molding cavity 4a provided in a die of a lower assembled body 1 and is compacted by pressurization by the edge face of a lower punch 5 and the edge face of an upper punch 12 in an upper assembled body 2. At this time, because the upper punch 12 is provided with edge faces 24, 25 and 26 for forming a thick part, a thin part and a medium-sized part and the edge face 25 for forming a thin part is provided with a gate part 27 of compound grains, at the time of rotating and pressing the upper punch 12, a part of the powdery raw material in the thin part is fed to the space for forming the thick part or the medium-sized part, and the density of the raw material powder in each thick, thin and medium-sized part is made nearly equal, by which a green compact in which the density of the whole is uniform can easily be obtd.
