To obtain a well-compatibilized molding composition by incorporating a thermoplastic polyurethane having a molecular structure comprising units derived from an aliphatic isocyanate and ether units with a copolymer having a molecular structure comprising units from an olefinically unsaturated monomer in a specified ratio.
This composition comprises 99-50 wt.% thermoplastic polyurethane and 1-50 wt.% olefin copolymer. The ether units of the thermoplastic polyurethane have each a number-average molecular weight of 400 or above, desirably 2,000-8,000 and a functionality of 6 or below and are each exemplified by an ethylene oxide/propylene oxide copolymer. The aliphatic polyisocyanate is hexamethylene diisocyanate or the like. The olefin copolymer is an α-olefin copolymer, desirably, an ethylene/propylene copolymer having a propylene content of 1-50 wt.%. Thus, a highly compatibilized blend of the thermoplastic polyurethane with the olefin copolymer can be obtained.
