Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a modifier and a compatibilizing material for modifying an engineering plastic such as a polyamide or compatibilizing an engineering plastic with a polyolefin-based resin and to provide a resin composition containing each component.SOLUTION: The compatibilizing material for a thermoplastic resin or a modifier comprises a copolymer satisfying the requirements as given below: I) the copolymer is a copolymer of ethylene or a 3-20C α-olefin and a polar group-containing monomer including a carboxyl group or a dicarboxylic acid anhydride group; II) the copolymer is a random copolymer; III) the amount of a structural unit derived from the polar group-containing monomer contained in the polymer chain of the copolymer is greater than that of a structural unit derived from the polar group-containing monomer contained in the terminal of the polymer chain; IV) the copolymer has a linear molecular structure; and V) the copolymer is produced by copolymerizing in the presence of a transition metal catalyst.
