Abstract:
PURPOSE: To decrease the crawling of dots to be displayed by using selectively a vertical high pass filter and a horizontal band pass filter for decoding. CONSTITUTION: The signals sent from a vertical high pass filter 206 pass through a switch 220 as long as no vertical edge exists, and the signals sent from a vertical equalization delay circuit 214 pass through the switch 220 if a vertical edge exists. The signals selected by the switch 220 are given to a horizontal band pass filter 232 and an equalization delay circuit 236, and a chrominance signal is outputted via a switch 242. The switch 242 is controlled by a logic circuit 252 and selects the output of an output terminal 238 while a vertical edge is generated. Then the switch 242 selects the output of an output terminal 240 or the terminal 238 according to the presence or absence of a horizontal edge when no vertical edge exists. A luminance component is outputted from an adder 264 which inputs the chrominance signal and the output of a horizontal equalization delay circuit 260.
