To provide a complex organic pigment high in chroma and opacifying properties, difficult to cause bleeding, excellent in stability in dispersity and color tone with time without dyeing applied parts and also to provide a composition and a cosmetic which contain the complex organic pigment.

This complex organic pigment is obtained by completely dissolving or dispersing an organic dyestuff or an organic pigment such as Red Color No.202 and Yellow Color No.4, which dissolve wholly or partially in water or an organic solvent, into water or an suitable organic solvent and precipitating an inorganic compound while adjusting the pH in the presence of an inorganic salt followed by chemically and in-processly building up or fixing the organic dyestuff or the organic pigment to the precipitated inorganic compound.
