PURPOSE: To select the presence or absence of a compliance function for a robot hand as required.
CONSTITUTION: The device is equipped with a fixed section 2 installed at the shaft tip end of a robot 1, a moving section 4 which includes a joint section 5 with the fixed section 2 and is connected to a robot hand 6, and with an elastic tube 3 connecting the fixed section 2 to the moving section 4. Normally, the elastic tube 3 is contracted, the fixed section 2 is thereby connected to the moving section 4 by the joint section 5, and there exists no compliance function therein. When compressed air is filled in the elastic tube 3, the connection of the joint section 5 is thereby released, so that the robot hand 6 is thereby of a compliance function.
