PURPOSE: To obtain a component arranging device capable of arranging components on a tray lengthwise and crosswise.

CONSTITUTION: A tray box 24 having received therein a number of trays 10 adapted to receive and arrange components therein is placed on a lifting device 30 and then moved vertically. A transfer plate 48 received a component 12 from a component supply device 56 on the right or left side of the tray 10 in the tray box 24 and then moves horizontally to lie along the front side face of the tray 10. The component 12 on the transfer plate 48 lying along the front side face of the tray 19 is transferred onto the tray 10 by a component loading device 64. This cyclic action, together with the vertical movement of the tray box 24, can arrange the components in all of the trays 10.
