To provide a component mounting device and a position decision control method for the same, capable of improving productivity by reducing a positioning control time.
In the positioning control of a movable work unit to perform work operations for component mounting by being driven by a servo motor, a plurality of types of positioning completion widths A1 and A2 are set and stored in advance, corresponding to the plurality of types of work operations respectively having different positioning accuracy required for the positioning completion widths. At the execution of each work operation, a positioning completion width corresponding to the work operation concerned is read out and indicated to a driver. By this, in regard to a work operation with rough positioning accuracy required, the positioning can be completed within a small required positioning time T2 while securing an accuracy range according to the required positioning accuracy. Thus, the productivity can be improved by the reduction of the positioning control time.
